Golf Club Fitting
Professional golf club fitting is a dynamic process in which a certified teacher like Steve Creps PGA 'Class A' Golf Professional works one-on-one with an individual on a driving range or a practice tee to determine the best possible club configuration for the person’s motion. It does not involve custom club making in the back room or tricking clubs to reward a bad swing, and it does not measure swing speed, fingertip-to-floor distance, or hitting into a net.
Club fitting is about swing improvement and rewarding a balanced motion with desired ball flight. You cannot separate the club from the swing. The golf club is our only point of contact with the ball and greatly influences its direction and distance. If an athletic, balanced motion does not provide the expected results, then we are forced to compensate in some way to achieve the results that we want. The many components of the club, if not properly fitted, dictate these compensations. When fitting an individual, all of the follow specifications must be determined:
- Deflection Point
- Flex Shaft
- Grip Material & Size
- Head Design
- Lie Angle
- Loft Angle
- Set Makeup
- Shaft Length
- Total Weight
Get a Grip on Your Game by Following Your Body’s Natural Motions
Letting the club fit your natural athletic motion rewards you with balanced motion and desired ball flight. Working with your body’s natural movements and athletic motions with no interference caused by using the wrong club is the best way to take a lesson. As soon as you have the correct club in your hands, you are no longer working with a manipulated motion that affects or interferes with your natural motion.
Getting club-fitted is an investment that will last forever, and it is the best choice you could ever make for your golf game. It also allows you to produce more club head speed with less effort and better balance, as well as straighter and further ball flight. In other words, you’ll be able to play to your full potential by taking a step forward and never looking back. Once you are fitted, you can start improving your natural game with lessons. In addition to standard golfing lessons, private lessons are available by appointment. Please let us know if you are interested, and we’ll be glad to discuss private lesson options with you.
